VFX (visual effects) is one of the services we offer here at POD, and the requests we’ve had over
the years have been anything but run-of-the-mill. One week we could be removing logos or
updating products within a film, and the next we could be replacing an unruly eyebrow for an
upcoming music video…
WHY BOTHER?
Not only can it help to build stand-out content, it can save you money. If a product’s changed or
another issue has come up along the way, we can help to edit the footage rather than reshoot.
TIP FROM THE EXPERTS
It’s important to have VFX supervisors on set to mark the scene and capture the lighting in case
you want to add products or other elements later.

OUR EXPERTISE INCLUDES…
● Clean up: Removing unwanted elements like removing skin imperfections.
● Rotoscoping: Tracing around an element so it can be extracted, edited, and placed on a
different background. This is the technique behind lightsabers!
● Tracking: Tracking objects to stabilise a shot or create powerful composited shots.
● Screen comps: Combining images into different layers.
● Retouching: Altering footage to remove defects like dust or dirt on a lens.
